It’s pretty evident that The University of Michigan’s head football coach Brady Hoke runs a tight ship. He demands the best from his players, specifically his seniors, and his staff. He wants to be successful in every aspect of the game. From film study to the scouting team, everyone has a role, and Hoke demands perfection. For me, the most impressive part of Brady Hoke’s repertoire, is his ability to recruit.
Don’t get me wrong, the fact that they improved so dramatically on the defensive side of the ball is remarkable. However, the fact that Brady Hoke, Greg Mattison and Al Borges still find time to go out and recruit speaks on their dedication to UofM. I know what your thinking “Michigan is a brand name and it has the ability to recruit for itself,” which is true. Nevertheless, the recruits they are pulling in aren’t two and three star players. They are four and five star players, some of the best at their position in the country.
They have roped in CB Terry Richardson, OLB Royce Jenkins-Stone (both from Cass Tech), and Kyle Kalis, a prized Ohio State recruit that decided he wanted no part of OSU and their sanctions. Also, bringing in Devin Funchess and Mario Ojemudia from Farmington Hills Harrison, a school that traditionally sends their students to in state rival Michigan State University. If you’re not a recruiting junkie than these names may mean absolutely nothing to you. However, they are excellent prospects and have a huge up-side. There are still a few players out there that have a very high chance of committing to the Wolverines. Here are a few names to keep an eye out for

Andrus Peat - OT: Chance of commitment to U of M: 40% |
| Peat is ranked has the 16th best player in the country. He is an Offensive Tackle who hails from Tempe, AZ. Peat stands 6’6 and 280 pounds. He is an outstanding athlete and has great explosion of the ball. He has the perfect frame for a OT and is perfectly able to bulk up for the next level. |

Joshua Garnett - OT: Chance of commitment to U of M: 80% |
| Garnett is ranked as the 42nd best player in the country. He is an Offensive Tackle who hails from Puyallup, WA. Garnett stands 6’5 and 275 lbs. Garnett has all the tools necessary to be an elite tackle. He is dominate, especially as a run blocker. Garnett was in Ann Arbor for a visit during the 40-35 win over Ohio State and had a “prefect experience.” |

Yuri Wright - CB: Chance of commitment to U of M: 70% |
| Wright is ranked as the 40th best player in the country. He is a Cornerback who hails from Ramsey, NJ. Wright stands 6’1 and 185 lbs. He has great hips and footwork and is the definition of a shutdown corner. Wright has a great burst off the ball and good speed. Wright has a visit scheduled to Ann Arbor on 1/13/12 and is scheduled to visit Georgia one week later. |
Hoke and staff don’t seem to be slowing down in any way. As they prepare for the January 3rd Sugar Bowl in New Orleans against Virginia Tech, they have a recruiting staff spread throughout the country talking with recruits and their families. Even as the season comes to an end, Brady Hoke and company are working hard to bring Big Ten Championships back to Ann Arbor.

Would be an excellent article if the caption regarding Yuri Wright actually talked about him rather than Andrus Peat.
Not sure how that got past all our editors! lol I will take the blame for it though. I fixed it.
Id put Peat at a 0%. He named his top 4 as Nebraska, Texas, FSU, and Stanford. He hasnt been on a visit and no in home coach visit. Safe to say he is not considering Mich.
Big Ten Championships? A B1G Championship is fine if it’s a stepping stone for a National Championship.
I agree with you 100%. However, were not at that level until Hoke has his recruits in place.
there are 2 great prospects at detroit king high school. 1 is chuck taylor de, and the other is norfleet qb,tb.
Michigan needs to recruit speed on both sides of the ball. Right now we don’t have any burners at receiver and our linebacker corp look they’re running in mud. It would be nice to have a couple of lock down corners as well. Recruits want to go to schools that play exciting football and none of the schools in the B1G are exciting right now. Al Borges, supposed offensive genius, is as boring as any OC I’ve seen. Recruit some speed and spread the field. If we add Garnett and Diamond our OL will be the best in the country so it will be easy to have an explosive offense if we get some speed at WR and RB. It would be interesting to see Stefon Diggs in a UM uniform.
