The DeAndre Jordan Dunk That Blew Up the Internet

Center DeAndre Jordan made a victim of a point guard from Detroit. Unfortunately for Brandon Knight, he will live in infamy for being dunked on and then added to the world of Wikipedia.
Deandre Dunk

The Los Angeles Clippers are known as ‘Lob City’ and for good reason. With high-flyers like Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan in the front court and a future Hall of Famer at point guard in Chris Paul, the boys have had the city of L.A. rocking all season long. The struggling Detroit Pistons paid a visit to the Staples Center on Sunday evening and it was a trip that won’t soon be forgotten

Leading by 19 points in the first half, Chris Paul dribbled the ball to the right and tossed a pass to DeAndre Jordan. The result was a posterization.

The See-It-To-Believe-It dunk can be viewed here. The dunk itself is not only the greatest dunk of the season but also one of the greatest dunks in recent NBA memory. The only thing better than the dunk is the reaction from the players and the crowd afterwards. From Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, kids in the crowd and even DeAndre Jordan himself, the images are priceless.

Needless to say, the world of Twitter blew up and the reaction was so overwhelming that Brandon Knight was trending worldwide!

Twitter reaction from:

Lebron James: @KingJames “DeAndre Jordan!!!! Dayyyuummmm!! Dunk of the year”

The last tweet from Rachel Nichols is a reference to the world of Wikipedia changing after this dunk. It’s worth a read to see how fast things change in the internet world.

What’s lost in the buzz of the dunk is the effort that Brandon Knight displayed. Sure, he was dominated and will forever be hung up on walls across the country. However, the guard went up to contest a center that is known to make NBA Jam seem like reality. Hats off to him for the effort but this is a moment that won’t soon be forgotten.

Vincent Smith should reach out to Knight to console him. In case you forgot, Vincent Smith was the victim of a massive hit.

The state of Michigan has been posterized one too many times lately. We’re only a couple of months in the year and the Motor City is a YouTube sensation.
