Remember when the Detroit Lions got all tough and cut Aaron Berry after a string of off-season arrests embarrassed the team and gave us all a glimpse of a locker room that was out of control? Well there is news now that said locker room is still out of control. The official Detroit Sports 360 Lions off-season arrest tracker stands at two after Ronnell Lewis went berserk at a bar in Norman, Oklahoma, and wound up getting tasered by the cops…twice.
Wait, Ronnell who?
Ya, we will get to that in a minute. Lewis follows in the footsteps of safety, Amari Spievey, who was arrested earlier this off season for domestic violence. We here at Detroit Sports 360 are setting the over/under of off-season arrests at five.
Who is Ronnell Lewis you ask? Well he was fourth round pick (125th overall) of the Lions in the 2012 draft. He plays linebacker and the line backing corps of this team is already thin. The Lions needed him even if he did not see the field last year. Really, he is yet another Martin Mayhew fourth round pick that may have been made in haste. The Lions are now in a position where they have to write this kid off and should cut him immediately to send an early message this off season that these kinds of shenanigans will no longer be tolerated.
Of course the Lions dusted off their usual post arrest press statement but that isn’t cutting it anymore. What do you think Lions fans? Should the team just cut Lewis now? Or does he deserve another chance?
